GENERAL QUESTIONS

a) What is Night-Dj?
night-dj.de was launched in May 2001 and has become the source for radio- and videoshows around the globe.Night-Dj is specialised on electronic music, especially on Deep-,Tech-House,Dub,Nu-Jazz,Lounge and other experimental stuff. My main goal is to feature great non-commercial electronic music from unknown radiostations. Local radiostations are disgusting in their unimaginative music rotation playing in turns of two or three hours always the same shit from Britney Spears to Gigi Agostino. It is not longer worth to listening their interfering advertisements and cheap moderations. Time has changed!

b) What do I need to listen?
All you need is an Audio application that supports the MP3, Real and Windows Media protocoll. You'll find several excellent applications available for each operating system. To watch/listen video/audio streams, a cable or dsl connection is recommended. Select 128kbps or higher. Dialup and ISDN users should select under 56kbps bandwidth. At 56k the video quality is pretty poor, but hey, it's better than nothing!

c) Do you offer a RSS Newsfeed?
Yes, of course! A free newsfeed is available here: http://www.night-dj.de/rss.xml

d) Are there any plans for different music genres?
At this time there aren't any plans to add other music genre. Night-Dj is specialised on electronic music only. But some stations in our list broadcasting other kinds of music to certain times. Be sure to check-out their radio schedule.

e) I 'm a DJ. Are you interested in my Demo CD?
Due to the fact that Night-DJ doesn't host stations I can't support your talent. If you're looking for a booking agency, take a look at our Links Section. Here you'll find a range of agencies and music labels.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

a) I am having buffering problems?
There are many factors which can affect streaming performance. 
- If your ISP is experiencing heavy traffic, has a poor connection to the internet, or even if there are too many people online in your neighborhood (for cable users), all these factors can cause your streams to stutter, drop out, or stop.

b) Some station doesn't work?
In this case you should try it again in a few hours because there are usually maintenance work or the streaming server reached its listeners capacity. Sometimes the streaming url might changed. Aternatively you can visit the radio website and try another Streaming URL. Note: Some stations aren' t play permanenly music, but only on certain days.

c) I can't find your Sherlock Plugin anymore!?
yeah. That's correct. I do no longer support Apple's web searching tool. Sherlock was replaced by Spotlight and Dashboard in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, although Apple continued to include it with the default installation. It can be expected that, it will be officially retired and removed in the upcoming future. In the meantime you can give the RSS Feed a try.

d) I posted a comment, but I can't find it?
At first be sure to check out the comment area at the bottom. By default comments are ordered by date. If you receive a blank page or your comment was saved, please inform me as fast as possible so that I can fix this bug.

e) How can I save a music/videostream?
Please do not steal music! I absolutely don't support file sharing activities. Most of our featured stations broadcasting awesome electronic tracks from unknown artist and small labels who are trying to gain ground in a hard music business. If you interested in their tunes, you should buy the music at your local recordstore or at various online places like iTunes, Amazon etc.

USAGE

a) How can I suggest new radios?
You can send me your stream suggestions via a contact form. Please attach a short description about the station and of course the site URL.

b) How long does it take for my submission to appear on the site?
Usually, stream submissions are posted within 3 - 4 days from when they are received. I carefully select which stations are added to my list. Most stations are owned by private persons who're paying the traffic cost out of their own pocket!

c) How can I add my podcast to your site?
Although Podcasting is a great idea, night-dj isn't a directory for world wide podcasts. If you're looking for music podcast, you can visit well-known communities like Podster (commonly German Shows), Podcast.net (source for thousands of podcasts covering a wide variety of topics and interests) or Apples iTunes Music Store.

d) Are you interested in link exchanges?
I am always interested in music related sites. You can submit a link in the link section. Sites about drugs, sex or any kind of criminal content will be strictly ignored!
The Night-DJ web site links to third party information providers. Night-DJ has no influence on the contents or reliability of the web sites of these third party information providers. The following therefore applies to all links: "Night-DJ has no influence on the design and contents of third party internet web sites. Night-DJ therefore expressly distances itself from the material of all third party internet web sites, even if Night-DJ web site links to these external sites."
